The Proposal

Mike proposed to Tricia on his family boat in White Sand Lake, Wisconsin. Early that morning, he told Tricia they should take a private boat ride to spend some time together away from the crowded family house (where there were 25 people staying that weekend). He took Tricia out on the boat with their dog Penny to his favorite spot on the lake. He asked Tricia to sit with Penny on the bow of the boat so he could take their picture. Once he was done, he gave Tricia the camera to look at the photos. As she scrolled through the pictures, she said “Do you want me to take a photo of you and Penny?” Mike replied, “No, but I want you to marry me.” Tricia turned to see Mike on one knee, a ring box in hand containing a ring he had designed nearly 6 months earlier. It was the most perfect, intimate moment – just the two of them celebrating their love and commitment to one another.

Just two days after the proposal, Mike & Tricia found out they were expecting a baby! It was quite the weekend of celebrations.

The Wedding

Mike & Tricia decided on The Line Hotel for their wedding because they wanted to be on the water and close to downtown. They loved that they were able to have their ceremony and reception in the same location since they had a lot of family and friends coming in from out of town. They were especially drawn to the floor to ceiling windows in the ballroom and the cool downtown vibes.

The ceremony was intimate and meaningful and the reception was a giant celebration of Mike & Tricia’s love shared with all of their dearest family and friends. The wedding was large, but still filled with closeness and intimacy. You could really feel the strength of the community that surrounded them.
